So whatâs the best way to stop your students stressing out over exams, so that they do better when it matters?
.
We know that fear and stress stops our youngsters from doing their best and pushes some students to act out in class, or miss class altogether.Â
This needs you to provide a lot of special staff support as you try all kinds of way to help them cope with their challenging feelings.
Your teaching colleagues too may be unsure how best to help the students do well, and feel frustrated that their hard work doesnât always get the results you all want.
Poor results arenât good for anyone.
On top of this, as exams got nearer, last summer, you may have heard from anxious parents who wanted the school to find ways to help their children struggling at home.
Most schools try to âbrush awayâ the problem without any kind of stress-management solution.
And you're here because I know you want to change how things are for you with Exam Stress at the moment.
But even if you HAVE been working on the challenges, unless you've been able to change:
you may not have been able to break down the patterns of behaviour theyâve got used to having and displaying! If you still have a number of over-anxious students, unwilling or unable to do their exams, then clearly, the current way hasnât had the results you wanted.
Maybe youâve tried things before but they havenât worked. Perhaps your students werenât ready for Change, or you felt unsure just what to do.
What you do know, is that Subject Skills alone wonât get your anxious students into that Exam Room.
Something has to change before exams come around again. No matter how much they've studied, if their panic kicks in when it counts, it's all been wasted.
And the clock is ticking down.
Feeling overwhelmed at times, some of your young people may have had a lot of self-doubt, which led them to miss class or stop taking good care of themselves. Fear shows up in many different ways,
Looking back at your recent exam period you might see itâs been a hard, stressful period for everyone.
But you may not have known HOW to support your students to make the difference they need to succeed in their exams. Â
These 3 things are:
1. Thinking Skills
2. Mindfulness Techniques
3. Teamwork
and this is what I cover in my course "Create Your Personal Exam Reaction Plan",Â
It's a Mindfulness based Course that involves the students in deciding, choosing, and changing HOW they deal with their responses to any fear and anxiety that comes up for them around exams.
Â
Unlike other programmes that focus on standard Mindfulness practices, this course is based on a Mindful âChange Processâ.
It asks your students to be responsible for HOW they change their behaviour and it expects them to AGREE how theyâll do that.
As they start their Student Stress Lessons, youâll help them create their own âContractâ and this will show how much theyâre willing to be involved in changing how they think and behave around exams.
Making  your students responsible encourages them to choose their own Mindful solutions to the levels of stress theyâre feeling.
Here's what's in the programme.
And get my 1-2-3 of how to do it, to help them eliminate their exam stress - no matter what their situation. You get 2 separate packages
In the Teacher Package I show you exactly what to share with your Teachers so they feel up to speed, and competent and confident about the Exam Stress Course they're about to deliver.
It covers how fear creates our personal panic spiral, the role of individual triggers and all the WHAT and practical HOW TO you need to know to get your Exam Stress Course up and running as quickly as possible for the best results.
In your Student Package I give your students every single thing they need to be able to show up as their best selves and perform at their highest capacity during exams.
We talk through things Like How to Still the Noise, How to Visualise Success, How to Let go of anything that might come up, and even some Meditation and Tapping Techniques that they can use in the middle of an exam to get re- focussed, and back on track to high performance as quickly as possible.

Creating a Personal Reaction Plan
This Teacher Timetable gives you an
at-a-glance schedule to help you plan your course delivery, with week-by-week suggestions on how to share the programme with your teachers and students (value ÂŁ39)
It helps your students unpick how theyâve come to react to stress and shows them how thatâs got set into their own panic spiral of behaviour.
As they take more responsibility for their behaviour you'll be showing them how to choose kinder and calmer solutions to help them manage the levels of stress theyâre feeling.
When we invest in our own stress solutions, weâre âinâ. Getting your students to create an Agreement here is key to their success.Â
Â
Once they see that they can change their set patterns, youâll share a range of well-respected Mindful techniques to help them handle any unpleasant feelings that come up.
The more opportunities they have to practice their chosen exercises, the more these Mindful responses will become their ânew normalâ.Â
Itâs these they will begin to turn to, to replace their previous behaviour in times of stress.
In the process, youâll have taught them a new level of self-awareness and resilience to help them perform at their best when under pressure.
Your course library will give you access to all the tools, resources and techniques, you need to help your students master their exam stress, valued at over ÂŁ2000! This includes:
.
You might consider doing a 6-day residential course for ÂŁ1245 or hiring a mindfulness teacher or education consultant charging ÂŁ180+ per hour. Over your 10-week exam lead-in period this could easily exceed over ÂŁ1800 in total expenses.
But why spend more when you can invest in Create Your Personal Exam Reaction Plan programme for only ÂŁ797?
Youâll get access to a range of resources shared with expert guidance, without draining your school budget.
And thereâs no wait to start class, or a period of staff training to timetable for.
Whatâs more â youâll be able to repeatedly use the materials year after year, for each new cohort of exam students! And your exam stress strategy will get more and more effective, each time you deliver it.
In the process you'll be building a positive school culture and grow your schoolâs reputation in your community
Howâs that for value!
NOW ITâS TIME TO MAKE A DECISION AND YOU HAVE 2 CHOICES
Your other choice is to choose Creating a Personal Exam Reaction Plan for your school, and help your students take back their personal control before next exam time.
I'm here to show you how.
The Create a Personal Exam Reaction Plan programme is suggested as a 10-week course with a new lesson shared with your students each week.Â
You can of course go quicker than this and lead more sessions each week, but you will need to allow time for students to practice each technique and make it part of their new Mindful way of responding to their exam stress.
You will also need to allow time for your own Teacher Training delivery beforehand.
This is to get your Teaching Team up to speed and to ensure you are all working with the same material, to the same objectives.
The longer you can continue supporting students either 1:1 or in groups to work on their commitment to change, the more likely you are to see the shifts you both wa
We understand the importance of budget restraints. It can be a challenge to justify an investment in a new exam stress solution to those who make the buying decisions.
But I encourage you to look on Creating a Personal Exam Reaction Plan as just that â an investment in the future potential of your students.
And remember, once you have the programme, it can go on working for you year after year for each new intake of exam students.
Once you see the visible shifts in your students, youâll be wanting to introduce Mindfulness earlier in the year, to get an even longer run in.
This will give the students more time to let Mindfulness become their new automatic response pattern to exam stress (instead of any previous disruptive behaviour).
Youâll need to decide if your students are worth the investment in their potential.
Iâve designed the course with you in mind! I know you need clear training delivered in the minimum time frame.
Itâs why Iâve designed the Teacher Training PowerPoints to fit your schedule.
And donât forget the 8 x âdone for youâ Exam Stress Sessions, complete with teaching notes and delivery PowerPoints. Thereâs no preparation time required on your part.
Once you and your teaching staff are familiar with the contents, (described in the 5 x Teacher Training PowerPoints) and have timetabled delivery, youâll find the Student Stress Sessions easy to lead.
I couldnât make it any easier for you to include this in your schedule.
Ask yourself âWhy do our students need us to invest our time in this now?â
I think you already know the answer to that one!
Absolutely! Emotional well-being and personal development are the focus of the course.Â
It also promotes self-awareness, resilience, coping strategies and positive thinking, so it can be an additional and valuable part of your PSHE curriculum.
Alternatively, pick and choose which areas to bring into your current curriculum.
Once your Teachers have gone through the Teacher Training programme (5 sessions) and Student Sessions (8) they will be able to see where best to include particular themes into their own lesson content.Â
You may also like to share some topics in School Assemblies, set up a Meditation Lunchtime or After School Club or to create designated areas such as a Mindfulness Corner or quiet outdoor space.
There are many ways to deliver the content.
You decide how to make it work best.
There are 2 areas where you are likely to see change.
Your Teaching Staff may find themselves more committed and energised, with increased purpose and confidence as they support your students.
It can give your Teachers more personal staff confidence in leading Mindfulness sessions and this can improve their own levels of stress.
The practice of Mindfulness as a solution to exam stress is an ongoing process and your students and staff will need to time to turn the exercises into new habits.
You may see shifts in a number of key areas: increased focus and attention, improved memory, skills and recall, students feeling calmer and less overwhelmed, and with better self-belief.Â
Anyone can benefit from the calm and quiet that Mindful Practice can bring â but it does need commitment. For the Programme to work â everyone needs to learn the techniques and put them into regular practice.
After a while, these new mindful ways will replace studentsâ old automatic reactions, that were based on fear they no longer feel. Â based on fear.
Set individual objectives, for your students, support them to do  regular practice and look for  the changes that come with Mindful awareness.
This is an online course and the course contents will be available through your personal library login. You will be sent your details via email after purchase.
The investment is for one school. Download the materials and make them available choose the best way to use them in your setting. The workbooks are fillable pdfs so you may like to load them onto your in-house system to share.
Your course comes in 2 parts â resources for you the Teacher, and Teaching resources to share with your Students. You can use the Teacher Training materials straight away.
It will take time to see results. Only you can decide what you want to measure.
What are your goals? Are you looking for changes in attitude, response behaviour, or are you more concerned with an improvement in Grades? As students get more at ease with how they manage their exam stress, youâll find theyâre able to do better in class. You may see an improvement in all areas.
Creating a Personal Exam Reaction Plan cannot guarantee any uplift in grade results as that is entirely down to how committed and consistent the students are to using the Mindful techniques to help them calm their feelings.
... and you need to give your students enough time to make the Mindful way of responding become THEIR way of managing their feelings. That way, the exercises and techniques THEY choose to use, will help them manage their thinking, stay in control and enable them to walk calmly into the exam room and do the best they can when it matters.
Creating an Exam Reaction Plan takes no responsibility for your school achieving improved results or for your studentsâ responses to the exam experience. The quality of your Results cannot be guaranteed, and are dependent on the willingness and work of your students, staff and your school to commit to change.
