How could you act for the good of all concerned?

I work in a tricky environment where I need to be aware of the unpredictable responses of those around me.  If I don’t’ consider others’ feelings – in how I walk my walk and talk my talk, then could put myself in danger.

So on a daily basis, I have to act in everyone’s interests – not just my own. It’s an in-built reaction to my surroundings, and remains instinctive, even when I’m outside these restrictions.

There are so many benefits that come for considering others.

  • Our conversations are more ‘you’ based and designed around being of service
  • Our relationships flourish as the focus is on building strength not crushing feelings
  • Our lives bloom as we give to those around us

Whenever there’s a chance to think of others we have a chance to grow ourselves

  • Instead of taking, why not give
  • Instead of blaming, why not praise
  • Instead of talking, why not listen
  • Instead of hurting why not love

I remember reading a quote (author unknown) that said “Love is the answer, what was the question”?

The answer is always Love. How can I serve.  How I can help YOU, rather than help myself.

When we put our efforts and attentions on the other person, so much strife falls away.

I’ve lost count of the kindness I’ve received back from others when I’ve put them first.

It may seem a step too far to take the focus of ourselves as we’re all encouraged to be self first. But I believe when we come from a place of giving where not a step behind, but a step ahead.

Our goal in life is not to beat the others to the finish line.  It’s to help others get there too.

I’ve determined to be a helper. It’s why I work where I do.

So I challenge you. Today, what could you for the good of all concerned? What could YOU do to help someone, for your workplace, for your community?

How could you be of service, serving others, above yourself?
