Do You Feel Invincible or Invisible? It's Normal to Fluctuate

How is it that our mood can turn on a sixpence? We let ourselves be open to the changing winds – what we read in our texts, what we hear from friends and family – what we think about ourselves.  It all seems built on sand and can switch in an instant.

We let our thoughts govern us,  and give into the loudest shout.

When we’re low on energy and support, it’s normal for our thinking to experience these ups and downs. If we live by ourselves we have to be our own train blazers and cheerleaders.  We have to be self-reliant. We rely on our own resources to see us through the challenges.

If we live with others, their support can make or un-break us too. So whatever our situation, knowing where our mood lies, helps us understand the swing.

You’ll have had many a day when you’ve  felt invincible.  Everything seems to go right.  Things flow. There’s nothing to stop your creativity and everything seems effortless and effective.

You seem to have an inbuilt encourager, who just knows things will pan out well.

It’s like everything’s a done-deal – even before it gets done.

You trust.  You just know. Things flow.  And so it is.

And on these days you wonder why you can’t tune into this part of yourself more often.

Well, the truth is, you can with a little talking to.

All coaches give their teams a pep talk to get them going. Motivational speakers do the same from the wings before they ‘go on’. The form of it isn’t set in stone – whatever you find works for you.

I’ve tried many kinds of self-talk over the years and they’ve all been helpful to some degree.

  • Those who praise visualisations put themselves in future scenes of positive action
  • Others use affirmations with “I am” self -talk
  • Or you could set yourself up with a sweet preparation for all the things you plan to work through that day
  • Bring in your spirit guides to help you achieve your tasks
  • Read uplifting quotes that inspire you and raise your self belief

I find there’s something about sitting at my laptop that puts me in the groove.

I’ve long  imagined my Philosopher Spirit Guide Lysander with me as I write, and those days when everything flows I just know he’s been inspiring me to share higher truths (it must come from somewhere, right).

Fortunately, I don’ t have that many moments of self-criticism, thought they still figure.  I’ve a childhood memory of my Father admonishing me for not doing my best, and images like this sometimes get through my barriers.  When I feel invisible, I know it’s time to re-engage with folk and find my voice again.  When I feel invincible, I’m in a different zone.

It’s those feelings I look for in myself. It’s those days when I know I’ll write something worthwhile and create valuable articles.

No, we can’t be infallible all the time, but learn to recognise those moments and the stepping stones to getting there.

Get to know how you got to be in the zone. Learn to line up those small things, so that the bigger things are easier to manage.

We want life to be about more than just managing – but to be ones of moment.

I recognise when my soul needs fresh air and quiet space.  I know when I’m ready to write, to be creative.

I’ve learnt to tune into my moods and feelings so that I can bring out the best of myself, and cuddle myself with calm, when I need that too.

We don’t have to be invincible all the time.  It makes us sound like citadels – repelling boarders! To me, being invincible means being productive and constant in my positive self-talk.

It’s those times when nothing gets me off track. I trust my inspiration, my Guides and my intuition to guide me in my work.

When we learn to trust,  and let go of the strain we put on ourselves, we can open up to more space to grow into.
